# Orchestrator and agents

> Who plans, builds and reviews your work in Architech.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Early Access.** Commands and behavior can change between releases.

The orchestrator is your main Architech session. It reads your project context, hands work to
specialist agents and brings their results back to you.

> **Orchestrator**
>
> Coordinates the work, tracks progress and follows your approval and merge rules.

> **Architect**
>
> Turns what you want into requirements, a design and tasks agents can run.

> **Developer**
>
> Builds and tests the change.

> **LLM-Whisperer**
>
> Handles work on LLM agents, prompts and AI behavior.

> **Reviewer**
>
> Checks the work, so its author never approves it.

## A local workflow

Describe the change in plain English, or use these session commands:

| Command | Use it to |
| - | - |
| `/help` | See the commands in your session. |
| `/spec` | Plan a feature before building it. |
| `/sync` | Read your project board. |
| `/dispatch <issue-number>` | Send a planned issue and its tasks to agents. |
| `/status` | Check dispatch progress. |

> [!WARNING]
>
> Review the plan and acceptance criteria before you approve the build. Review the pull request
> before you allow a merge to the default branch. A finished task is not permission to merge.

## In the Factory

The [Software Factory](https://docs.mutagent.io/factory/overview.md) runs each role in its own stage session: the architect
plans, the developer builds, a separate reviewer checks, and the orchestrator lands the change once
the required approvals are in. Locally, you drive the work through Architech. On
[Mutagent Cloud](https://docs.mutagent.io/factory/cloud.md), stage sessions run in sandboxes.
