# Trace viewer

> /trace opens your session logs read-only: list sessions, open one, step through it. Works in every mode.

`/trace` opens a viewer over the session logs on your machine: Architech sessions and, if you have
them, sessions of other coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, and the open-source coding agents Pi and
Oh My Pi). Pick a session and step through it, or see it as a waterfall of real durations. It is
read-only: it never re-runs, steers, deletes or writes to a session file, so it's safe to open on a
live run. It works in orchestrator, agent and Prime modes.

The viewer keeps its own index for browsing; it never writes to session files. For framework
sessions that recorded only context snapshots, not a full transcript, it shows what was recorded
and doesn't invent tool timings or a full trajectory.

## Screens

| Screen | Shows |

| **Sessions** | Every session found in the supported Architech, Pi, Oh My Pi, Claude Code and Codex log locations and formats, one row each: coding agent (the `HARNESS` column), model, duration, turns, context used, sub-agent count. Press `2` for **lanes** (every session as a bar starting at t=0) and `1` to come back. |
| **Trajectory** (`1`) | The selected session step by step: messages, tool calls, sub-agent dispatches. What your agents *did*, not what they said they did. |
| **Waterfall** (`2`) | The same session as timed spans, with real durations per step: what ran long, and what waited on what. |
| **Inspect** | One span in full; `←`/`→` (or `h`/`l`) step to the previous / next span without leaving. |

## Keys

| `↑` `↓` · `j` `k` | Move. `PgUp`/`PgDn` jump ten; `g`/`G` top / bottom. |
| `Enter` | Open the selected session or span. |
| `→` · `←` | On Sessions: fold a session's sub-agent children out and back. |
| `1` · `2` | Swap between the dense view and the timing view of whatever you are looking at. |
| `+` · `-` | Zoom the time axis on the lanes view. |
| `/` | Filter the list you are on (not on Waterfall or Inspect). |
| `Tab` | On Sessions: change the sort. On Trajectory: fold rows. |
| `a` `h` `p` `o` `c` `x` | On Sessions: show all coding agents, or only Architech, Pi, Oh My Pi, Claude Code or Codex. |
| `f` | On Trajectory or Waterfall: follow a session that is still running, live. |
| `c` | Inside a session: copy the selected span as JSON. |
| `Esc` | Back one level (on Sessions, clears the filter first). Never quits. |
| `?` | Key help. |
| `q` | Close the viewer. |
